According to Hindu scriptures, visiting these four abodes washes away sins of multiple lifetimes and unlocks the ultimate spiritual state of Moksha.

The Chardham Yatra must always commence at Yamunotri, progress to Gangotri, ascend north to Kedarnath, and culminate at Badrinath. This clockwise sequence ensures natural altitudinal progression and spiritual harmony.
Perched at 3,291 meters in Uttarkashi district, Yamunotri temple honors Goddess Yamuna. Devotees trek 6 km from Janki Chatti and cook rice/potatoes in Surya Kund hot spring as holy prasad. The Divya Shila is worshipped before entering the sanctum.
At 3,100 meters on the banks of Bhagirathi River, Gangotri is where King Bhagirath performed penance for 1,000 years to bring Ganga to Earth. The 18th-century white granite temple was built by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa. Pilgrims collect sacred Gangajal in copper containers.
At 3,583 meters, Kedarnath is the most sacred of the 12 Jyotirlingas. The stone temple, consecrated by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, survived the 2013 floods miraculously due to the Bhim Shila boulder. The 16 km trek from Gaurikund or helicopter from Phata/Sersi are the two options.
At 3,133 meters, Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The self-manifested black Saligram idol was retrieved by Adi Shankaracharya from the Alaknanda River. Pilgrims bathe in Tapt Kund (45°C) before darshan. Nearby Mana Village is India's last inhabited village before the Tibetan border.

The Uttarakhand Government requires all pilgrims to complete Devasthanam Board (BKTC) registration before visiting Kedarnath and Badrinath. Registration is free and done online at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in. Daily pilgrim caps are enforced at peak-season. Our team handles all registration formalities for package clients.
The 16 km round-trip trek from Gaurikund takes approximately 5–6 hours one way. Helicopter services operate from Phata, Sersi, Guptkashi, and Agustmuni helipads. One-way helicopter costs approximately ₹4,500–₹7,000 per seat. Book only through IRCTC or authorized operators to avoid fraud.
May–June (Peak Season): Pleasant temperature 15–25°C, all routes open. September–October (Post-Monsoon): Crisp clear skies, stunning autumn views, fewer crowds. Avoid July–August: Heavy monsoon, landslide risk, many roads blocked. Shrines close between Diwali and Akshaya Tritiya annually.
